Prabhu (1): Do you have some good recipes on how to create a nice atmosphere, like family atmosphere that Prabhupāda created when he was here with everybody?

HH BVPS Mahārāja: Well, yeah, you could take:

    • 1 cup of sooji
    • 1 cup of water
    • 1 cup of milk
    • 1 cup of sugar
    • 1 cup of butter

And then, after roasting the sooji in the butter and putting the water and milk together in a pot and bringing it to a boil, then pour that in and then cook it until you kind-of get the... As you are moving the spoon, you kind-of get the 'Red Sea effect'. If the spoon, if it floats that's a problem, but if it parts like that then, yeah... And then put it on the side, put a lid on it, leave it for like 45 minutes, good lid, like that. After that then offer it to Kṛṣṇa, and then after that call all the devotees, and then you will have that atmosphere you are talking about.

[Laughter]

Prabhu (2): It has been tested.

HH BVPS Mahārāja: Yeah, it's worked.

[Prabhu (2): In Poland in the old times they had these 1 kilo bags of milk powder, and it was comunistic time, couldn't get anything in the shops. So in order to make a nice Kṛṣṇa conscious atmosphere you just cut off the top, you poured down water as much as fit the bag, you add some sugar and [slurp]. And you offered this, and everybody was happy.

HH BVPS Mahārāja: Yeah!

Prabhu (2): For a while, because then you fall asleep, but...

HH BVPS Mahārāja: Yeah, but then when you wake up, you do it again.

Prabhu (2): But the recipe works every time, it was very nice.

HH BVPS Mahārāja: So like that, there is many recipes.

Prabhu (1): Nowadays there are so many vegans and those who don't drink milk, we have so many problems.

HH BVPS Mahārāja: Yes. And so, those who are willing to be vegetarian and offer things to Kṛṣṇa like that, then they will go back to Godhead. The others can stay here, be nice guys.
